Tofarus Gel 10gm

Tofarus Gel is used for the following:

• Management of alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition causing hair loss.

• Control of atopic dermatitis, an inflammatory skin disorder known as eczema.

• Potential use in vitiligo cases to promote skin repigmentation.

Here is how you should use Tofarus Gel:

• Ensure your hands are clean before applying the gel. Wash them thoroughly with soap and water.

• Apply a thin layer of the gel to the affected areas, as per your doctor's advice.

• Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, or nose after application. If the gel accidentally enters these areas, rinse them with water immediately.

• Do not wrap or cover the treated area unless your doctor tells you to do so.

• Keep your skin moisturised by regularly using a mild moisturiser on the treated area.

Tofarus Gel is applied topically.

Tofarus Gel contains tofacitinib (2%), which works on your body in the following ways:

• Inhibits JAK Enzymes: Tofacitinib works by blocking specific JAK enzymes, namely JAK1 and JAK3. These enzymes play a crucial role in the signalling pathways for inflammatory cytokines, substances secreted by immune cells that cause inflammation.

• Reduces Inflammatory Processes: By inhibiting JAK activity, tofacitinib prevents the activation of STAT proteins that mediate immune responses and inflammation. This results in a reduction in the inflammatory processes that underlie conditions like alopecia areata and atopic dermatitis.

• Acts Locally: When applied, tofacitinib is absorbed through the skin and acts locally at the site of application. This allows the anti-inflammatory effects to be exerted in a targeted manner, directly on the affected skin regions.

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

• The ideal storage temperature is below 30°C.

• Ensure the tube is kept tightly closed when not in use to prevent exposure to air and moisture.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Always check the expiry date on the tube before using the product.

• For those with alopecia areata, consider incorporating foods high in vitamins A, C, and E, like citrus fruits and leafy greens. These vitamins could support hair health.

• If you are dealing with atopic dermatitis, try to avoid skin irritants such as harsh soaps or fabrics. Opt for mild skincare products and wear soft cotton clothing.
