Tocef 200 Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in adults. It is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections like pneumonia and bronchitis, ear and throat infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhoea.
It contains cefixime, a cephalosporin antibiotic. Take the tablet as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food. It is vital to complete the full duration of treatment as directed, even if your symptoms clear up earlier. Stopping the antibiotic prematurely may lead to the infection returning or developing resistance.
When recovering from an infection, support your immune system by getting sufficient rest, drinking plenty of water, and maintaining a balanced, nutritious diet.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any kidney problems, gastrointestinal disease, or a known allergy to cephalosporin or penicillin antibiotics. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop severe watery diarrhoea, skin rash, or breathing difficulty.
