Telmed Am 80 Tablet 10

Telmed Am 80 Tablet 10 is used for the following conditions:

• Managing high blood pressure, also known as hypertension.

• Keeping chronic stable angina under control. This is a type of chest pain that occurs when your heart doesn't get enough blood.

• Managing vasospastic angina, which happens when the arteries supplying your heart become narrow or blocked.

• Controlling coronary artery disease, a condition where plaque builds up inside the coronary arteries, which supply oxygen-rich blood to your heart muscle.

• The whole tablet is taken orally with a glass of water.

• Make sure not to crush or chew the tablet.

• It's crucial not to take more than the dose recommended by your doctor.

Telmed Am 80 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Telmed Am 80 Tablet 10 consists of two active ingredients that work together in your body:

• Amlodipine (5 mg): This ingredient is a calcium channel blocker. It functions by inhibiting the movement of calcium ions into the smooth muscle cells lining your blood vessels and heart. This action results in relaxation and widening of your blood vessels (vasodilation), reducing the resistance against which your heart needs to pump blood and lowering your blood pressure.

• Telmisartan (80 mg): This component is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. It specifically binds to a receptor subtype called AT1 in your body. By blocking the effect of angiotensin II – a substance that constricts your blood vessels and releases a hormone called aldosterone – telmisartan promotes relaxation and widening of your blood vessels (vasodilation) and reduces aldosterone-induced water retention. These actions collectively lower your blood pressure.

• Store Telmed Am 80 Tablet 10 at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep the tablets in a tightly closed container to protect from light and moisture.

• Ensure children cannot access the medication.

• Maintain a low-salt diet as high sodium levels can increase blood pressure, worsening hypertension.
