Tacrolius Lotion is used to treat moderate to severe eczema (atopic dermatitis). It helps reduce skin inflammation and relieves symptoms such as redness, itching, and irritation, and is a useful option for people who have not responded well to, or cannot use, other treatments.
It contains tacrolimus and belongs to a group of medicines called topical immunosuppressants, which calm the overactive immune response in the skin. Apply a thin layer only to the affected areas as directed by your doctor, and continue for the prescribed duration. Wash your hands after applying, unless the hands are being treated.
During treatment, using a gentle fragrance-free moisturiser, avoiding known triggers such as harsh soaps and extreme temperatures, and protecting treated skin from strong sunlight help support the skin and reduce flare-ups.
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor about any skin infections, other skin treatments you use, or if large areas are affected. A mild warmth or burning at the site is common at first and usually settles. Speak to your doctor if the condition does not improve or worsens.
