SUDIN D SYRUP 100ML may interact with the following medicines:

• Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as fluoxetine or sertraline: Concurrent use with dextromethorphan may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome, which may present with symptoms such as agitation, confusion, tremors, sweating, or rapid heartbeat. Medical supervision is advised during combined use.
• Tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline: Concomitant use may enhance sedative and anticholinergic effects, increasing the risk of drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, or difficulty in urination. Older patients may be more susceptible to these effects.
• Sedatives or anxiolytics such as diazepam or lorazepam: Combined use may increase central nervous system depression, leading to excessive drowsiness, dizziness, impaired concentration, or breathing difficulty. Caution is advised while taking these medicines together.
• Beta-blockers such as propranolol: Concurrent use may reduce the effectiveness of phenylephrine and may alter cardiovascular responses, increasing the risk of blood pressure fluctuations or abnormal heart rate. Monitoring may be required during combined use.

• Glaucoma: Anticholinergic effects of this medicine may increase intraocular pressure and worsen glaucoma symptoms in susceptible individuals.
• Prostatic hypertrophy: Anticholinergic effects may worsen urinary retention or difficulty in urination in patients with an enlarged prostate. Patients should use this medicine cautiously under medical advice.
• Respiratory conditions: Use cautiously in asthma or chronic respiratory disease, as suppression of the cough reflex may mask worsening respiratory symptoms or lead to mucus accumulation in the airways.
