CompositionSucral Mu Ointment 15gm is used on the skin to treat localised bacterial skin infections and to support the healing of minor wounds and superficial ulcers. It is a combination medicine containing mupirocin, an antibacterial, and sucralfate, a skin-protecting agent, and belongs to a class of medicines called topical antibacterials.
This medicine works by stopping bacteria from growing, while the sucralfate forms a protective coating over the damaged area. Clean and dry the affected area, wash your hands, and apply a thin layer as directed. Complete the course even if the skin looks better.
Keep the affected area clean and dry, avoid picking or scratching wounds, and cover the area with a clean dressing if your doctor recommends it. Good hand hygiene helps prevent the infection from spreading.
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any ingredient or are using other skin preparations. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and inside of the nose. Use in children only under medical supervision, and speak to your doctor before using it on large areas of damaged skin. See your doctor if the infection does not improve, spreads or the skin becomes more irritated.
