Sprycel 70 MG Tablet is used for the following:

• Treatment of chronic myeloid leukaemia

• Management of Philadelphia chromosome-positive leukaemia

• Treating acute lymphoblastic leukaemia

• Alternative therapy for leukaemia resistant to other medicines

• Second-line medicine when other cancer treatments fail

• Targeted therapy for abnormal protein-driven cancers

• Management of blood cancers with specific genetic mutations

• Controlling white blood cell multiplication in leukaemia

• Specialised treatment for tyrosine kinase-dependent cancers

• Therapy for cancers with BCR-ABL gene abnormalities

Follow these instructions while taking Sprycel 70 MG Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet unless your doctor advises otherwise.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day for the best results.

• You can take it with or without food.

Sprycel 70 MG Tablet is taken orally.

Sprycel 70 MG Tablet contains dasatinib (70 mg), which works on the body through several mechanisms:

• Inhibits BCR-ABL Fusion Proteins: Dasatinib blocks abnormal protein signals called BCR-ABL fusion proteins that drive the uncontrolled multiplication of leukaemic cells.

• Targets Src Family Kinases: The medicine inhibits proteins called Src family kinases, which play a key role in cancer cell growth and survival.

• Induces Apoptosis: Dasatinib causes programmed cell death (apoptosis) in cancer cells by interrupting the signalling pathways that allow them to survive and reproduce.

• Prevents Cancer Cell Proliferation: By targeting cancer-specific proteins, the medicine helps prevent further growth or spread of cancer cells throughout the body.

• Selective Action: The medicine's targeted approach helps minimise damage to healthy cells compared to traditional chemotherapy, which affects both cancerous and normal cells.

• Store Sprycel 70 MG Tablet at room temperature, between 20°C and 25°C.

• Keep the medicine protected from moisture and light exposure.

• Always store it in its original packaging until you need to use it.

• Keep out of reach of children and pets.

• Do not use this medicine after its expiry date.

• Maintain a balanced, nutritious diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables and proteins to help support your immune system during cancer treatment, as chronic myeloid leukaemia affects your blood cell production.
