Saxaquest 2.5 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Managing Type 2 Diabetes mellitus in adults

• Blood glucose control when diet and exercise aren't enough

• Regulating blood sugar as part of combination therapy

• Enhancing insulin production in diabetic patients

• Reducing excessive glucose production by the liver

• Complementing other diabetes management approaches

• Supporting glycaemic control in adults with diabetes

• Improving pancreatic function in type 2 diabetes

• Regulating post-meal blood sugar levels

Follow these instructions while taking Saxaquest 2.5 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Take it daily, with or without food.

• Try to take it at the same time each day for best results.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• If you have kidney problems, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

• Never stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Saxaquest 2.5 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Saxaquest 2.5 Tablet 10 contains Saxagliptin (2.5 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• DPP-4 enzyme inhibition: Saxagliptin blocks an enzyme called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), which normally breaks down incretin hormones in your body.

• Incretin hormone preservation: By preventing the rapid degradation of incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP (hormones released by your intestine), Saxagliptin increases their concentration in your bloodstream.

• Enhanced insulin secretion: The preserved incretin hormones stimulate your pancreas to produce more insulin when blood sugar levels are high, helping to lower glucose levels in a glucose-dependent manner.

• Reduced glucagon production: Saxagliptin helps decrease the amount of glucagon (a hormone that raises blood sugar) your body produces, further contributing to better blood sugar control.

• Store Saxaquest 2.5 Tablet 10 at room temperature.
