CompositionSalmol 2.5 Respules (Pack of 5) is used to relieve sudden tightening of the airways (bronchospasm) in breathing conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is a single-ingredient short-acting bronchodilator medicine containing salbutamol.
This medicine works quickly to relax the muscles around the airways so they open up and breathing becomes easier, helping ease symptoms such as wheezing, breathlessness and chest tightness. The liquid is breathed in using a nebuliser, as directed by your doctor, and can also be used to help prevent breathing problems brought on by exercise.
Quitting smoking, avoiding known triggers where possible, and following any breathing plan your doctor has given you can help alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any heart problems, an irregular or fast heartbeat, diabetes or thyroid problems, and any other medicines you take. Tell your doctor if your breathing does not improve or gets worse after using it, or if you notice a fast heartbeat, shakiness or muscle cramps.
