It contains rosuvastatin and clopidogrel, which belong to groups of medicines called statins and antiplatelets. Rosuvastatin lowers harmful LDL cholesterol, while clopidogrel reduces the tendency of the blood to clot, helping keep blood flowing. Swallow the capsule whole and take it as prescribed, continuing even if you feel well.
A heart-healthy lifestyle is an important part of treatment, including a balanced diet low in saturated fat, regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, quitting smoking and limiting alcohol.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver problems, bleeding problems, stomach ulcers, unexplained muscle pain, or other medicines you take. Because it makes bleeding more likely, report any unusual bleeding, and tell your doctor promptly about persistent muscle pain or weakness. Avoid drinking large amounts of grapefruit juice, as this can affect the cholesterol-lowering part of this medicine.
