- Triprolidine (2.5 mg): Triprolidine has a specific chemical structure that allows it to bind to and block the histamine receptors in your body. This prevents the histamine from attaching to those receptors and triggering the allergy symptoms. In addition, triprolidine also has "anticholinergic" properties, which means it can help dry up the extra mucus and nasal secretions that come with allergies.5 This helps relieve a runny or stuffy nose.
- Pseudoephedrine (5 mg): Pseudoephedrine binds to special receptors in your nose called "alpha-adrenergic receptors" and activates them. When the receptors are activated, it causes the blood vessels in your nose to get narrower. This reduced blood flow to the nasal tissues causes the swelling and inflammation to go down, opening up your nasal passages. This makes it easier for you to breathe normally again.
