Ralop Suspension 30ml

Ralop Suspension is used to manage acute diarrhea in infants and children, particularly caused by rotavirus. It reduces water and electrolyte loss into the gut, firming stools and promoting faster recovery from gastrointestinal infections.

Administer Ralop Suspension to your child as follows:

Ralop Suspension contains racecadotril (15 mg), which acts on your child's body as follows:

• Enkephalinase Inhibition: Racecadotril works by inhibiting an enzyme called enkephalinase in your child's gut. This enzyme normally breaks down certain endogenous opioid peptides known as enkephalins.
• Enhanced Enkephalin Activity: Racecadotril blocks enkephalinase and increases the activity of enkephalins on δ-opioid receptors in the gut.
• Reduced Intestinal Fluid Secretion: The elevated enkephalin activity leads to less water and electrolytes being secreted into the intestinal lumen. This helps manage diarrhoea without affecting gut motility or promoting bacterial overgrowth.
