Racedot 10 Mg Powder 1 Gm is used for managing acute diarrhoea in infants and children, helping reduce fluid loss and prevent complications from severe diarrhoea.

Uses of Racedot 10 Mg Powder 1 Gm are:

• Acute Diarrhoea: Helps manage acute diarrhoea in infants and children.
• Oral Rehydration Support: Assists oral rehydration solution therapy in controlling severe diarrhoea symptoms.
• Dehydration Prevention: Helps prevent dehydration and electrolyte imbalances due to diarrhoeal episodes.

If any side effect does not improve or becomes serious, speak to your child's doctor. Do not stop giving the medicine unless the doctor advises you to do so.

To administer Racedot 10 Mg Powder 1 Gm:

• Pour the entire contents of the sachet into a glass of water.
• Stir to dissolve it completely.
• Take it immediately after dissolving in water.
• Do not store the medication.

Racedot 10 Mg Powder 1 Gm is given orally.

Racedot 10 Mg Powder 1 Gm contains Racecadotril (10 mg), which works in the body as follows:

• It inhibits an enzyme called enkephalinase, which is present in the gut. This enzyme breaks down endogenous enkephalins, which are compounds that reduce water and electrolyte secretion in the intestines. It reduces intestinal hypersecretion by blocking enkephalinase activity. This process helps decrease fluid and electrolyte loss through diarrhoeal stools without affecting intestinal motility or transit time.

• Store Racedot 10 Mg Powder 1 Gm in a cool, dry place, ideally at room temperature, which is between 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and moisture.
• Keep the medicine out of reach of children.
• Always use the medicine before its expiry date.

• Ensure your child drinks plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration when they have diarrhoea.
• Provide your child with a balanced diet rich in fibre to help regulate their bowel movements.
