Prosilol 40 MG Tablet 10 is used to manage high blood pressure, angina (chest pain) and irregular heart rhythms. It is also used to prevent migraines, to ease the physical symptoms of anxiety such as a racing heart and tremor, and to manage an overactive thyroid and certain other conditions. By slowing the heart rate, it helps the heart work more efficiently.
It contains propranolol, which belongs to a group of medicines called beta-blockers. Take the tablet whole with water, with or without food, as prescribed. Do not stop it suddenly, as this can cause a sharp rise in heart rate or blood pressure.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active within your doctor's advice, limiting caffeine and quitting smoking support your treatment alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any asthma, diabetes or heart block before starting, and about other medicines you take. Report a very slow pulse, marked breathlessness, dizziness or cold hands and feet.
