CompositionPhexin 250 Capsule is used to treat bacterial infections of the throat, ears, skin, bones, joints, and urinary and reproductive tracts. It works against many common bacteria responsible for infections such as tonsillitis, ear infections and respiratory or dental infections.
It contains cephalexin, a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Take the capsule with or without food, as prescribed, and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better early, as stopping too soon can allow the infection to return or bacteria to become resistant.
Drinking plenty of fluids and getting adequate rest can support your body's recovery while you complete the course of antibiotics. Maintaining good hygiene around any affected skin or wound sites also helps prevent the infection from spreading.
Tell your doctor if you have a known allergy to penicillin or other cephalosporin antibiotics before starting this medicine. Contact your doctor if you develop a skin rash, severe diarrhoea, or signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat.
