Phexin Capsule is used to treat bacterial infections of the throat, ears, skin, bones, joints, and urinary and reproductive tracts. It works by destroying the protective cell walls of bacteria, causing them to die and clearing the infection.
It contains cephalexin, a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. It is effective against many common bacteria responsible for ear infections, tonsillitis, respiratory infections, and dental infections.
Take the capsule with or without food as prescribed. Complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better early stopping too soon can allow the infection to return or bacteria to become resistant.
Nausea or diarrhoea may occur and usually settles with time. Tell your doctor if you have a known allergy to penicillin or other cephalosporins before starting this medication.
