CompositionPantakind DSR Capsule is used to manage gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which stomach acid repeatedly flows back into the food pipe. It is a combination medicine containing pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that lowers stomach acid, and domperidone, a prokinetic that helps the stomach empty more smoothly.
This medicine is also used in the management of peptic ulcers and acidity, and it helps relieve heartburn, nausea and vomiting linked to acid reflux. It is usually taken on an empty stomach before a meal, preferably in the morning. Swallow the capsule whole; do not crush or chew it. Take it in the dose and for the duration prescribed by your doctor.
Eating smaller meals, avoiding spicy, fatty or fried food, and cutting down on tea, coffee and alcohol can help reduce reflux. Not lying down soon after eating and raising the head of your bed slightly may also ease night-time heartburn.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, a heart rhythm problem or low magnesium levels, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor if you notice a fast or irregular heartbeat, black stools or difficulty swallowing, or if your symptoms do not improve. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
