Olmin 20 Tablet 10

Olmin 20 Tablet is used in adults and children aged six and over for the long-term management of high blood pressure, and to help protect the heart and kidneys from complications.

Uses of Olmin 20 Tablet are:

• High Blood Pressure: Helps lower and control raised blood pressure in adults and children over six.
• Cardiovascular Protection: Helps reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.
• Kidney Protection: Helps protect the kidneys from damage associated with high blood pressure.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Avoid taking more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• It's important not to stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Olmin 20 Tablet is taken orally.

Olmin 20 Tablet contains olmesartan medoxomil (20 mg), which works in the body as follows:

• Conversion to Olmesartan: Olmesartan medoxomil is a prodrug, which means that it's transformed into its active form, olmesartan, during absorption from the gastrointestinal tract.

• Angiotensin II Receptor Blockage: Olmesartan is a selective angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor antagonist. In simple terms, it blocks the activity of a substance called angiotensin II, which is known to constrict or tighten blood vessels.

• Blood Vessel Relaxation: By blocking angiotensin II, olmesartan allows the blood vessels to relax. This effectively enhances the ease with which blood can flow and reduces the strain on the heart, thus lowering blood pressure.

• Store Olmin 20 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep it in a dry place, safe from moisture.

• Protect it from direct light.

• Always ensure it's out of reach of children.

• Remember to use this medicine before its expiry date.

• Since Olmin 20 Tablet is used to manage hypertension, consider reducing your salt intake. Too much salt can raise blood pressure.

• Regular physical activity is important. Try a moderate-intensity exercise like brisk walking for at least 30 minutes most days, after consulting your doctor. This can help lower your blood pressure.
