OFM Suspension is used to treat diarrhea, dysentery, and stomach infections in children caused by both bacteria and parasites. It combines ofloxacin and metronidazole, which work together to stop infection and restore gut health. Doctors prescribe it for quick relief from loose motions, abdominal pain, and related symptoms. Always use it under medical supervision.

Administering OFM Suspension to your child should be done in this manner:

• Shake the bottle well before use to ensure the medicine is evenly distributed.
• Measure out the exact quantity prescribed by your doctor using a spoon or cup.
• You can mix OFM Suspension with milk, juice, or water if your child finds it difficult to take alone.
• Try to avoid giving antacids to your child 2 hours before or after they take this medicine as it can reduce its effectiveness.

OFM Suspension is given orally to your child.

OFM Suspension comprises two active ingredients that work together:

• Ofloxacin (50 mg): As a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, ofloxacin works by inhibiting enzymes called DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV in bacteria. These enzymes are necessary for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair. By inhibiting these enzymes, ofloxacin effectively hinders bacterial growth.
• Metronidazole (100 mg): Metronidazole is a nitroimidazole antibiotic that works by inhibiting DNA synthesis in bacteria and parasites which leads to cell death. It is absorbed by anaerobic bacteria and sensitive protozoa making it effective against many infections.

• Store OFM Suspension at a steady room temperature, ideally between 15 and 30°C.
• Keep the container tightly closed to protect it from moisture and light.
• Don't forget to keep this medicine out of your child's reach.
