Nizral Cream is used to treat common fungal skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm and pityriasis, a condition that causes scaly patches on the skin. It contains ketoconazole, an antifungal medicine that stops the fungus from growing and spreading.
Wash and thoroughly dry the affected area before applying a thin layer of the cream, as prescribed by your doctor, and gently massage it in until absorbed. Continue applying the cream for the full duration recommended, even if visible signs of infection improve within a few days.
Keep the treated area dry and wear loose, breathable cotton clothing to reduce moisture that allows fungus to thrive. Avoid sharing towels or footwear with others while being treated for the infection.
Avoid covering the treated area with airtight bandages unless specifically instructed by your doctor. Seek medical advice if you notice significant skin irritation, or if the infection does not clear with the full course of treatment.
