This injection contains vecuronium, a neuromuscular blocking medicine that temporarily blocks nerve signals to skeletal muscles, causing controlled muscle relaxation or paralysis. It is given only by an anaesthetist or trained medical professional during surgery. The dose is determined based on your body weight, the procedure, and your response to the medicine. Its effects wear off as the medicine is eliminated from the body, and normal muscle function returns. A reversal medicine may be used when appropriate.
Before surgery, follow all fasting and other preparation instructions given by your medical team. Tell your anaesthetist about all medicines you are taking, any allergies or previous reactions to anaesthesia, and any medical conditions, particularly myasthenia gravis or other neuromuscular disorders. Also inform them if you have kidney or liver disease, as these conditions may affect the duration of the medicine's effects.
