Namspas-DR Tablet combines two active ingredients:

• Drotaverine (80 mg): Drotaverine works as a selective phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor. This means it blocks an enzyme called PDE4, leading to an increase in a substance called cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) inside your cells. This increased level of cAMP causes relaxation of smooth muscles in your gut, helping to relieve cramps and spasms.

• Mefenamic acid (250 mg): Mefenamic acid is a type of medicine known as an NSAID. It acts by inhibiting enzymes called cyclooxygenase (COX), especially COX-2. These enzymes are involved in making substances called prostaglandins that cause inflammation, pain and fever. By blocking these enzymes, mefenamic acid reduces inflammation and pain. It also has some effect on the central nervous system that can help with pain relief.
