Micropod 200 Tablet is used to treat a range of bacterial infections, including infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, ears, throat and sinuses. It is also used for certain sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhoea, when prescribed by a doctor.
It contains cefpodoxime, a cephalosporin antibiotic that works by interfering with the bacterial cell wall, killing the bacteria and helping reduce fever, localised pain and discomfort caused by infection. Take it with food as prescribed, and complete the full course even if you feel better within a few days.
Drinking plenty of fluids and getting adequate rest can support your body's recovery alongside this medicine. Avoid skipping doses, as this can reduce the medicine's effectiveness against the infection.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor about any pre-existing health conditions, especially kidney problems, or known allergies to antibiotics. Contact your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, or if you develop severe diarrhoea or a rash.
