CompositionMICEF O 200mg Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, throat, ears, urinary tract and gastrointestinal system by halting bacterial growth. It combines cefixime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, with ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic.
Cefixime and ofloxacin both stop bacteria from surviving and multiplying, through different mechanisms, giving broader antibacterial cover for infections that may involve a wider range of bacteria.
Take strictly as prescribed and complete the full course, even if symptoms improve early, to fully clear the infection and reduce the risk of resistance developing.
Avoid exposure to bright sunlight, as the ofloxacin component can increase sensitivity to UV light. Tell your doctor about existing health conditions and allergies, and report any tendon pain or swelling during treatment.
