Maxol 0.5 % Eye Drops 10 ML are used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible bacteria. By stopping bacterial growth, the drops help reduce eye redness, discharge, irritation, and discomfort, thereby helping clear the infection and restore eye comfort during active bacterial eye infections.

• Wash your hands before using the drops.

• Pull down your lower eyelid gently to form a pocket.

• Hold the dropper close to your eye without touching it.

• Squeeze the dropper gently to release a drop into your eye.

• Close your eyes and press gently on the inner corner for 1-2 minutes.

• Wait at least 5 minutes if you need to put other eye medications.

Maxol 0.5 % Eye Drops 10 ML contain moxifloxacin (0.5%), which has the following effects on your body:

• Inhibition of Essential Bacterial Enzymes: Moxifloxacin works by selectively inhibiting two vital enzymes in bacterial cells DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV. By inhibiting these enzymes, moxifloxacin obstructs the replication and spread of bacteria. This activity helps in managing the infection effectively.

• Store Maxol 0.5 % Eye Drops 10 ML at room temperature.

• Keep the bottle away from direct light and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.

• Always keep the medicine out of reach of children.

• Maintain good eye hygiene by washing your hands frequently and avoiding touching your eyes unnecessarily.

• Avoid sharing towels or make-up items, as this could spread the infection to others.

• If you wear contact lenses, avoid them if you have symptoms of bacterial conjunctivitis. The preservative in Maxol 0.5 % Eye Drops 10 ML, benzalkonium chloride, may be absorbed by soft contact lenses, which can cause eye irritation.
