Lymzit 408 Capsule 10

Lymzit 408 Capsule 10 may interact with the following medicines:

• Antacids containing aluminium, calcium, magnesium, or bismuth: Concurrent use can significantly reduce the absorption of lymecycline due to chelation, leading to reduced therapeutic effectiveness. 
• Iron and zinc supplements: Iron and zinc salts can bind to lymecycline in the gastrointestinal tract, decreasing its absorption and clinical effectiveness.  
• Oral retinoids and vitamin A (high doses): Combined use may increase the risk of benign intracranial hypertension, characterised by headache and visual disturbances. Concomitant administration should be avoided. Concomitant use with systemic retinoids (e.g., isotretinoin) is contraindicated due to increased risk of intracranial hypertension.
• Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin): Lymzit 408 Capsule 10 may enhance the effect of anticoagulants, increasing the risk of bleeding. Dose adjustment and close monitoring of coagulation parameters may be required.
• Oral contraceptives: Lymecycline may reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives, potentially increasing the risk of unintended pregnancy. Additional non-hormonal contraceptive measures are recommended during treatment.
• Penicillin antibiotics (e.g., amoxicillin): Concurrent use may reduce the antibacterial efficacy of penicillin antibiotics, as tetracyclines can interfere with their bactericidal action. Combined use is generally not recommended.

Lymzit 408 Capsule 10 may interact with the following foods:

• Calcium: Foods rich in calcium may reduce absorption if taken simultaneously. Maintain a time gap between dairy products and the capsule if advised by your doctor.

Lymzit 408 Capsule 10 should be used with caution in:

• Systemic lupus erythematosus: Lymecycline may exacerbate symptoms of lupus and should be used only under close medical supervision.
• Myasthenia gravis: Due to potential neuromuscular effects, this medicine may worsen muscle weakness in susceptible patients.
• History of antibiotic-associated colitis: Use may increase the risk of recurrence of severe diarrhoea or pseudomembranous colitis. Patients should be monitored closely for gastrointestinal symptoms.

The recommended dose of Lymzit 408 Capsule 10 is decided by your doctor based on the severity of acne, response to treatment, and individual health factors. Follow the prescribed dosage strictly and do not alter it without medical advice.

An overdose of Lymzit 408 Capsule 10 may cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or diarrhoea. In case of suspected overdose, seek medical attention immediately.

If you miss a dose of Lymzit 408 Capsule 10, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
