Lizomed 100mg Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine used to treat serious bacterial infections in infants and children. It is prescribed for severe conditions such as hospital-acquired and community-acquired pneumonia, complicated skin and soft tissue infections, and resistant bacterial infections such as Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium.
It contains linezolid, an antibiotic belonging to the oxazolidinone class. Reconstitute the dry syrup with clean water as directed by your pharmacist or doctor. Administer the exact dose to your child using a measuring device, with or without food, as prescribed. Ensure your child completes the full course of treatment to prevent the infection from returning or becoming resistant.
Supportive care measures during bacterial illness in children include keeping the child well-hydrated with adequate fluids, ensuring sufficient rest, and offering light, nutritious meals as tolerated.
Before giving this medicine to your child, inform the doctor if your child has a history of high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, bone marrow suppression, or seizure disorders. Tell the doctor about any other medications your child is taking. Report any unexplained bruising, unusual tiredness, severe diarrhoea, or changes in your child's vision promptly.
