Livsat Tablet 10 is used to treat liver conditions such as primary biliary cirrhosis and to dissolve certain small, cholesterol-rich gallstones in people who cannot have surgery. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing ursodeoxycholic acid, and belongs to a class of medicines called bile acids.
This medicine works by improving bile flow and reducing the harmful bile acids that can damage the liver, which also helps protect liver cells. Take it with food or milk as prescribed, and continue for the full period your doctor advises, as dissolving gallstones can take several months.
Eating a balanced, lower fat diet and keeping to your regular liver blood tests and check-ups can help support your treatment.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about your full medical history and any other medicines you take. Your doctor may check your liver blood tests during treatment. Report worsening abdominal pain or itching.
