Lircetam Oral Solution 100 ML is used for the following:

Follow these instructions while taking Lircetam Oral Solution 100 ML:

• Shake the bottle well before each use.

• Use the measuring cup provided to measure the correct dose.

• Take this medicine with or without food at the same time each day.

• Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

• This medicine needs to be taken regularly for best results.

Lircetam Oral Solution 100 ML contains levetiracetam (100 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Synaptic vesicle protein binding: Levetiracetam attaches to a specific protein called SV2A (synaptic vesicle protein 2A) in your brain cells, which helps regulate the release of chemical messengers between nerve cells.

• Neurotransmitter modulation: By binding to SV2A, this medicine helps stabilise the release of neurotransmitters (chemical messengers) in your brain, preventing the excessive electrical activity that causes seizures.

• Brain signal stabilisation: Levetiracetam works by slowing down abnormal electrical signals in your brain that trigger seizures, helping to maintain normal brain function.

• Seizure threshold elevation: The medicine increases the threshold at which seizures can occur, making it less likely for your brain to experience the uncontrolled electrical activity that leads to epileptic episodes.

• Store this solution at a controlled room temperature between 20-25°C in a cool, dry place.
