LINAPRIDE D Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes. It is a combination medicine containing dapagliflozin and linagliptin, and belongs to the classes of SGLT2 inhibitors and DPP-4 inhibitors.
Dapagliflozin helps the kidneys remove excess glucose from the body through the urine, while linagliptin increases levels of incretin hormones, prompting the pancreas to release more insulin and reducing liver glucose production, together improving blood sugar control. Take this tablet daily, with or without food, and drink enough fluids through the day, since dapagliflozin increases how much you urinate. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
A balanced diet, regular physical activity, staying well hydrated and keeping the genital area clean and dry support blood sugar control and help reduce infection risk alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about a history of pancreatitis before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Speak to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor immediately if you notice deep, laboured breathing, nausea or unusual tiredness even with a normal blood sugar reading, as this can signal diabetic ketoacidosis. Report any burning on passing urine or genital itching promptly, and report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
