Larinject She Injection 10ml is used to manage iron deficiency anaemia in patients who cannot tolerate oral iron supplements or have not responded satisfactorily to them. It contains ferric carboxymaltose, an intravenous iron preparation.
This medicine works by directly replenishing the body's iron stores, which are needed to make haemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen, correcting anaemia more quickly than oral iron in appropriate patients.
This injection is given into a vein by a healthcare professional in a clinical setting, where you will usually be monitored for a period afterwards for any reaction. The dose and number of sessions depend on your iron levels and body weight.
Tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to intravenous iron, or if you have liver disease, active infection, or are in the first trimester of pregnancy, as these need careful assessment. Report any unusual tiredness, palpitations or breathlessness during or after the infusion.
