LAMOTRIZ 100 TABLET 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of epilepsy in adults

• Managing partial-onset seizures

• Controlling generalised tonic-clonic seizures

• Adjunctive therapy for difficult-to-control seizures

• Maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder

• Preventing mood episodes in bipolar disorder

• Delaying the occurrence of depression in bipolar patients

• Reducing the frequency of manic episodes

• Prevention of mixed episodes in bipolar disorder

Follow these instructions while taking LAMOTRIZ 100 TABLET 10:

• Tablet should be dispersed in water immediately before use or chewed before swallowing.

• Take this medicine with or without food.

LAMOTRIZ 100 TABLET 10 is taken orally.

LAMOTRIZ 100 TABLET 10 contains lamotrigine (100 mg), which works in the following ways:

• Neuronal Membrane Stabilisation: Lamotrigine stabilises neuronal membranes in your brain, helping to prevent the excessive electrical activity that can trigger seizures.

• Inhibition of Excitatory Neurotransmitters: It reduces the release of glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter in your brain that, when present in excessive amounts, can contribute to seizures and mood instability.

• Voltage-Sensitive Sodium Channel Modulation: Lamotrigine affects voltage-sensitive sodium channels in your brain, which are tiny pathways that control electrical signals. By modulating these channels, it helps regulate brain activity and prevents abnormal firing of nerve cells.

• Store at room temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep the medicine protected from light and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging until ready for use.

• Keep all medicines out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.
