Composition

Itraconazole (100 Mg)

Itaspor Capsule is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, nails, mouth and internal organs, including ringworm and athlete's foot that have not responded to topical treatment.
It contains itraconazole, a broad-spectrum antifungal that stops the fungus building its cell membrane, causing it to die. Take this capsule immediately after a full meal, as prescribed by your doctor, to help absorption.
Keeping the affected area clean and dry, and avoiding sharing towels or footwear, can help prevent the infection from spreading or returning.
Follow the dosage instructions carefully and consult your doctor before making any adjustments.

Itaspor Capsule is used to treat systemic and localised fungal infections, including Internal Fungal Infections (Mouth, Throat, and Lungs) and Skin and Nail Infections (Ringworm and Fungal Nail Infections).
Uses of Itaspor Capsule are:
• Internal Fungal Infections (Mouth, Throat, and Lungs): It halts fungal growth to resolve deep-seated infections inside bodily tissues.
• Skin and Nail Infections (Ringworm and Fungal Nail Infections): It stops the spread of fungi to restore the health and appearance of affected skin and nails.

To use Itaspor Capsule correctly:

Carefully adhere to the dosage and timing instructions provided by your doctor for this medication.
Do not alter or exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.
Consult your doctor before stopping this medication; do not discontinue use without their approval.
Follow the dietary recommendations given by your doctor.

Itaspor Capsule is taken orally.

Inhibits Fungal Enzyme: Itraconazole blocks an enzyme called 14α-demethylase within the fungi. This enzyme is crucial because it helps convert one substance called lanosterol into another substance called ergosterol.
Disrupts Fungal Cell Membranes: Ergosterol is a key part of the cell membranes of fungi. So, when itraconazole stops the production of ergosterol, it affects the structure and function of these cell membranes.
Kills Fungi: Over time, this disruption caused by itraconazole leads to the death of the fungi, effectively managing your fungal infection.

Pregnancy

If you're expecting, caution is advised while taking Itaspor Capsule. It's best to consult your doctor before starting this medication.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding women should avoid taking Itaspor Capsule. Please discuss this with your doctor to understand the potential risks and benefits.

CYP3A4 substrates: Medicines like alprazolam, amlodipine or statins might have their levels increased when taken with Itaspor Capsule.
Medicines that prolong QT interval: The risk of arrhythmias may be increased when medicines like quinidine, dofetilide or pimozide are taken with Itaspor Capsule.
