Isonitrate 30 Sr Tablet 10

Isonitrate 30 Sr Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Prevention of angina pectoris

• Reducing frequency of chest pain episodes

• Long-term management of coronary artery disease

• Follow-up care after heart attack

• Supporting treatment of congestive heart failure

• Prevention of coronary insufficiency complications

Follow these instructions while taking Isonitrate 30 Sr Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet, as it is an extended-release formulation.

• You may take this medicine with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day.

Isonitrate 30 Sr Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Isonitrate 30 Sr Tablet 10 contains isosorbide mononitrate (30 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Nitric oxide release: Isosorbide mononitrate releases nitric oxide inside blood vessel cells, which starts a chain of reactions leading to blood vessel relaxation.

• Guanylate cyclase activation: The released nitric oxide activates an enzyme called guanylate cyclase, which increases levels of cyclic GMP (a chemical messenger) in the body.

• Blood vessel dilation: The increased cyclic GMP causes the smooth muscles in blood vessel walls to relax, making the vessels wider and improving blood flow.

• Coronary artery dilation: It particularly widens the coronary arteries (the blood vessels supplying the heart), ensuring better oxygen delivery to heart muscles.

• Reduced cardiac workload: By dilating blood vessels throughout the body, the medicine reduces the resistance against which the heart must pump, decreasing its workload.

• Keep in its original container at room temperature (below 30°C).

• Store in a dry place, away from direct light and moisture.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Check the expiry date on the package and do not use this medicine after that date.

• Follow a low-salt, low-fat diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to support your cardiovascular health and reduce the workload on your heart.

• Engage in moderate exercise as advised by your doctor to improve heart function and circulation, which can help reduce the frequency of angina (chest pain) episodes.
