Gudcef Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine used in children to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, skin, and urinary tract. It stops bacterial growth and helps the child recover from bacterial illnesses.
It contains cefpodoxime proxetil, a cephalosporin antibiotic that works by disrupting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Reconstitute the dry syrup with boiled and cooled water as directed, shake well before each dose, and give it as prescribed. Always complete the full treatment course to prevent the infection from returning.
Ensure the child receives adequate rest and stays well hydrated with plenty of water and clear fluids during recovery. Giving the medicine with food can help improve absorption and minimize stomach discomfort.
Inform your doctor if your child has a history of severe antibiotic allergies, kidney problems, or severe diarrhoea before starting treatment. Contact your doctor if the child develops a skin rash, persistent vomiting, or watery diarrhoea during or after the treatment course.
