Goutnil Tablet is used to relieve and help prevent gout attacks. It eases the pain, swelling and stiffness of an attack and, taken regularly, helps reduce how often attacks occur.
It contains colchicine. It works by reducing the inflammation that uric acid crystals cause in the joints. It does not lower the level of uric acid in the blood, so it is often used alongside a separate urate-lowering medicine.
Take it exactly as prescribed and do not exceed the dose, as colchicine can be harmful in overdose. Loose motions are often the first sign the dose is too high.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, or other medicines, before use. Seek urgent help for severe diarrhoea, vomiting, muscle weakness or signs of an allergic reaction.
