Frusenex 100 Tablet 10

Frusenex-100 Tablet is used for the following:

• Reducing fluid buildup in heart failure
• Managing severe fluid retention in liver cirrhosis
• Treating excess fluid in kidney disorders
• Relieving fluid in the lungs
• Lowering high blood pressure
• Controlling fluid accumulation in nephrotic syndrome
• Decreasing swelling in the legs and ankles
• Removing excess fluid from the body
• Supporting the treatment of pulmonary oedema
• Helping manage fluid retention with other medicines

Follow these instructions while taking Frusenex-100 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.
• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.
• Take the medicine regularly to get the most benefit.
• Consult your doctor if you have questions about using this medicine.

Frusenex-100 Tablet is taken orally.

Frusenex-100 Tablet contains furosemide (100 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Action on Loop of Henle: furosemide acts specifically on the ascending loop of Henle in the kidneys, a part of the tiny structures that filter your blood.
• Inhibits sodium and chloride reabsorption: It prevents your kidneys from reabsorbing sodium and chloride ions from the tubular lumen, which is the hollow space inside kidney tubules.
• Increases water excretion: By blocking the reabsorption of these ions, furosemide causes more water to be eliminated from your body through urine.
• Reduces fluid volume: The increased urine production helps decrease the total amount of fluid in your body, which helps relieve symptoms of oedema and lowers blood pressure.

• Store Frusenex-100 Tablet at room temperature (below 30°C) in a dry place.
• Keep the medicine away from direct light and moisture.
• Store in the original packaging until ready to use.
• Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
• Check the expiry date and do not use Frusenex-100 Tablet after this date.

• Limit salt intake: Since Frusenex-100 Tablet manages fluid retention and high blood pressure, reducing salt in your diet helps these conditions and improves how well the medicine works.
• Monitor your fluid intake: If you have oedema (fluid build-up in tissues) or heart failure, your doctor may recommend tracking how much you drink daily to help manage your condition.
