FDP 40/10 MG TABLET 10 is used to prevent migraine attacks and reduce how often and how severely they occur. It is taken regularly as a preventive treatment, not to stop an attack already in progress.
It combines flunarizine, a selective calcium channel blocker that stabilises blood vessel tone in the brain and has mild antihistamine activity, with propranolol, a beta-blocker that reduces cardiac output and helps prevent the vascular changes that trigger migraines.
Take the tablet as prescribed, usually at bedtime to minimise daytime drowsiness. It takes several weeks of regular use before the full preventive benefit is felt, so do not stop abruptly without consulting your doctor.
Drowsiness and weight gain are the most commonly reported effects. Tell your doctor if you have a history of asthma, depression, or heart problems before starting this medicine.
