Epilex Chrono 300 Tablet is used to control seizures in epilepsy, to manage manic episodes in bipolar disorder, and to help prevent migraine headaches in adults and children aged over ten.
It contains sodium valproate and valproic acid in a chrono-release form that provides steady drug levels through the day. Swallow the tablet whole as prescribed; do not crush or chew it. Do not stop it suddenly, as abrupt withdrawal can significantly increase seizure frequency any dose changes must be made gradually under medical guidance.
A regular sleep routine, avoiding alcohol, and identifying personal triggers all help support treatment. Regular blood tests to check drug levels, liver function, and platelet counts may be needed during long-term treatment.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver disease, bleeding problems, or kidney problems, and about all other medicines. This medicine can seriously harm an unborn baby, so women of childbearing age must use effective contraception throughout treatment. Tell your doctor immediately if you could be pregnant. Speak to your doctor before breastfeeding.
