Epileptal 150 MG Tablet 10 is used to control various types of seizures in adults and children with epilepsy. It is also sometimes used to stabilize moods in other neurological conditions. By preventing the "electrical storms" in the brain that cause seizures, it helps patients lead a safer, more predictable life and reduces the risk of injury.
This treatment contains Oxcarbazepine. It works by stabilizing the over-excited nerve membranes in the brain. It specifically blocks the sodium channels that nerve cells use to send rapid, repetitive electrical signals. By "calming" these signals, it prevents the seizure from starting or spreading across the brain.
Take this tablet twice a day at the same time. Do not stop taking it suddenly, as this can cause a rapid return of seizures. Consult your doctor if you experience sudden dizziness, double vision, or if you notice a significant decrease in your blood sodium levels (symptoms include nausea and confusion).
