Envas Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to support heart function in adults with heart failure. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing enalapril, and belongs to a class of medicines called ACE inhibitors.
This medicine helps lower the workload on the heart and helps protect kidney function. Take it as prescribed, with or without food, and continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as high blood pressure usually has no outward symptoms. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Eating a low-salt diet, exercising regularly, keeping to a healthy weight and avoiding smoking and excess alcohol support blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
This medicine must not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as it can harm the developing baby, so tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, diabetes, low blood pressure or raised potassium levels before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report a persistent dry cough, or any side effects that persist or become serious, to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
