Enapril-HT Tablet is used for the following:

Management of high blood pressure or hypertension in adults
It can be paired with other medications to manage hypertension more effectively

It would help if you took Enapril-HT Tablet as follows:

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablet.
Avoid taking more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.
Remember, you should not stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Enapril-HT Tablet is taken orally.

Enapril-HT Tablet may have the following common side effects:

Dizziness
Headache
Fatigue
Cough
Muscle cramps and weakness
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea
Rash, pruritus: These terms refer to skin reactions. Rash is a noticeable change in the texture or colour of your skin, while pruritus means itchiness.

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, which resolve upon discontinuing the use of Enapril-HT Tablet. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Enapril-HT Tablet works by combining the effects of two active ingredients:

Enalapril (10 mg): This ACE inhibitor blocks the ACE enzyme responsible for converting angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a substance that narrows blood vessels. By inhibiting this conversion, Enalapril relaxes blood vessels, thus lowering blood pressure.
Hydrochlorothiazide (25 mg): This diuretic increases the excretion of sodium and water from the body. This reduction in blood volume further lowers blood pressure. Additionally, it relaxes the blood vessels, contributing to the tablet's antihypertensive effect.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, Enapril-HT Tablet should be discontinued as soon as possible. Please consult your doctor before starting this medicine.

Breastfeeding

Both enalapril and hydrochlorothiazide, the active ingredients in Enapril-HT Tablet, passes into breast milk. If you're breastfeeding, exercise caution when taking this medication and consult your doctor.

Alcohol

Liver

Antidiabetic agents: The hydrochlorothiazide component in Enapril-HT Tablet could affect your body's sugar control, potentially requiring a dose adjustment of insulin or oral hypoglycaemic agents.

Enapril-HT Tablet interacts with the following diseases:

Hypotension: Enalapril, one of the components of Enapril-HT Tablet, might cause excessive low blood pressure, particularly in individuals with heart failure or renal artery stenosis.
Renal Impairment: Hydrochlorothiazide could worsen azotemia (raised level of urea in blood) in patients with kidney disease.
Electrolyte Imbalance: Hydrochlorothiazide might lead to imbalances such as low potassium levels (hypokalaemia), low sodium levels (hyponatremia), and an imbalance in acid-base resulting in abnormally high blood pH (hypochloraemic alkalosis).
Liver Disease: Caution is advised when using Enapril-HT Tablet if you have impaired liver function or progressive liver disease, as hydrochlorothiazide might not be metabolised effectively.

Daily Dose

Your doctor will prescribe the daily dose of Enapril-HT Tablet. This may vary according to your condition and how you respond to the medicine. Always follow your doctor's instructions and avoid exceeding the dosage without a consultation.

Over Dose
