Elfi Xl 200 Mg/500 Mg/90 M Tablet Xl 10 is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It combines a cephalosporin antibiotic with clavulanic acid, which broadens its action against resistant bacteria, and a probiotic (Lactobacillus) that helps maintain healthy gut bacteria during treatment.
The cephalosporin component stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall, killing them, while clavulanic acid blocks an enzyme some resistant bacteria use to destroy the antibiotic, and the added probiotic helps reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea by supporting the normal balance of gut flora.
Take this tablet with food at the intervals your doctor prescribes, and complete the full course even if you feel better early, to help clear the infection and reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance.
Tell your doctor if you have a known allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins. Report persistent or severe loose motions (diarrhoea), which occasionally needs medical review despite the added probiotic support.
