Dresin Ointment 200Gm

DRESIN Ointment is used to prevent and manage minor skin infections caused by bacteria and for skin antisepsis in superficial fungal infections when advised by a doctor.

Uses of Dresin Ointment are:

• Wounds and Burns: Prevents infection in minor cuts, scrapes, burns and abrasions.
• Pre- and Post-Procedure Care: Supports skin disinfection before and after minor procedures.
• Superficial Fungal Infections: Used for skin antisepsis when advised by a doctor.

Follow these instructions while using Dresin Ointment 200gm:

• Ensure that the affected area is clean and dry before application.
• Apply the ointment to the affected area using your fingertip or a clean cotton swab.
• The amount of ointment required will depend on the size of the wound or infection.
• Gently massage the product into the skin, covering the entire affected area with a thin layer of ointment.
• Wash your hands after applying the ointment to prevent spreading any infection.

Dresin Ointment 200gm contains povidone-iodine (5%), which acts on the body as follows:

• Slow Release of Iodine: The povidone iodine in Dresin Ointment 200gm slowly releases iodine upon application. This iodine subsequently penetrates the cell walls of microorganisms impacting their function.
• Disruption of Microbial Cell Function: Inside these cells, iodine interferes with protein synthesis, oxidises enzymes and membrane components, and disrupts DNA replication. This multi-faceted antimicrobial action leads to cell death, thus preventing the development of infections.
• Wide-Spectrum Antimicrobial Action: Povidone iodine's broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity effectively manages a wide array of pathogens, including bacteria, fungi, viruses, and protozoa.

• Keep The 5% ointment of coldine at room temperature.
• Store in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Ensure the container is tightly sealed when not in use.
• Keep this product out of reach of children to avoid accidental ingestion or misuse.
• Always check the expiry date before use, and discard any remaining ointment after this date.
