Domin 40mg Injection is used to manage critically low blood pressure (hypotension) and cardiogenic shock in ICU settings. It improves cardiac output and organ blood flow in severe conditions including septic shock, post-cardiac surgery, heart failure, and renal failure.
It contains dopamine 40mg/5ml, a catecholamine with dose-dependent effects. It is given as a continuous intravenous infusion by a healthcare professional with continuous haemodynamic monitoring.
This medicine is administered and monitored entirely by the intensive care team. Blood pressure, heart rate, urine output, and IV site are continuously observed during infusion.
Before administration, the healthcare team will review for any history of phaeochromocytoma or ventricular fibrillation, which are contraindications. All dose adjustments and monitoring are managed by the supervising medical team.
