Divalpret Er 500 MG Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of various forms of epilepsy

• Management of generalised tonic-clonic seizures

• Control of absence seizures

• Management of complex partial seizures

• Regulation of manic episodes in bipolar disorder

• Prevention of migraine headaches

• Stabilisation of electrical activity in the brain

• Control of abnormal brain impulses

• Reduction of seizure frequency

• Management of seizure intensity

• Maintenance therapy for epilepsy disorders

Follow these instructions while taking Divalpret Er 500 MG Tablet 10:

• Take this tablet exactly as directed by your doctor.

• Swallow the tablet whole with water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• You can take the tablet with or without food.

• Try to take the medicine at the same time every day.

• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose.

Divalpret Er 500 MG Tablet 10 contains sodium valproate/valproic acid (500 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• GABA Enhancement: Sodium valproate increases the levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a natural substance in the brain that inhibits nerve impulses, helping to control electrical activity and prevent seizures.

• Brain Stabilisation: This medicine stabilises electrical activity in the brain by regulating the flow of certain ions (electrically charged particles) across nerve cell membranes, which helps prevent the abnormal firing of neurones that causes seizures.

• Mood Regulation: Sodium valproate affects various neurotransmitters (chemical messengers) in the brain, which may explain its effectiveness in managing manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder.
