Denuril Injection 1ml is used to treat osteoporosis and bone loss in people at increased risk of fractures. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing denosumab, which belongs to the classes of medications called monoclonal antibodies and antiresorptive agents.
This medicine is used to treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men at high risk of fractures. It may also be used to manage bone loss associated with certain hormone deprivation therapies and glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis. Denuril Injection 1ml works by blocking RANK ligand, a protein involved in the formation and activity of cells that break down bone. This reduces bone loss, increases bone density and helps lower the risk of fractures.
Denuril Injection 1ml is administered as a subcutaneous injection by a healthcare professional. Maintain adequate calcium and vitamin D intake as advised by your doctor during treatment. The dose and frequency depend on the condition being treated and should be followed exactly as prescribed.
Tell your doctor if you have low blood calcium levels, severe kidney problems, dental problems or a planned dental procedure before receiving this medicine. Low calcium levels should be corrected before starting treatment. Maintain good oral hygiene and attend regular dental check-ups, as denosumab may rarely cause osteonecrosis of the jaw. Seek medical attention if you develop muscle cramps, numbness or tingling, severe jaw pain, or signs of a serious infection or allergic reaction.
