CompositionDEFSURE 30 MG Tablet 6 is used to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a progressive muscle-weakening condition, where it helps reduce inflammation and supports muscle function. It is also used for inflammatory and allergic conditions such as asthma and rheumatoid arthritis, and to calm an overactive immune system.
It contains deflazacort, which belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids. Take it exactly as prescribed; the dose depends on the condition being treated. Do not stop it suddenly, as the dose usually needs to be reduced gradually under medical advice.
Enough calcium and vitamin D, weight-bearing activity and a balanced diet help protect the bones, as long-term steroids can weaken them.
Tell your doctor about any infections, diabetes, high blood pressure or stomach ulcers before starting, and about other medicines you take. Avoid contact with chickenpox or measles if you have not had them. Report signs of infection, mood changes or severe stomach pain.
