DD-50 Injection is a medicine used primarily to manage osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones) in postmenopausal women. It helps improve bone strength and reduce the risk of fractures linked to long-term bone loss after menopause.
DD-50 Injection contains a long-acting anabolic steroid from the androgen group of medicines. It is given as a deep intramuscular injection by a healthcare professional, usually every few weeks, as directed by your doctor. Do not self-administer this medicine. Attend all scheduled appointments to receive your doses on time.
Supportive measures help maintain bone health alongside this medicine. These include getting enough calcium and vitamin D through diet or supplements, doing regular weight-bearing exercise as advised by your doctor, avoiding smoking, and limiting alcohol intake. A balanced diet rich in protein is also important.
Before receiving this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart problems, a history of breast or prostate cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, or are taking other medicines. It is not suitable during pregnancy. Inform your doctor if you notice changes in voice, increased body hair, or other unusual symptoms during treatment.
