CZOPRESS 5MG TABLET XL 10 is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension), which helps lower the risk of cardiovascular complications. It is also used to ease the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia), and may be used in heart failure and in Raynaud's disease.
It contains prazosin, which belongs to a group of medicines called alpha-blockers, in an extended-release (XL) form. It works by relaxing the blood vessels and the muscles of the prostate and bladder neck. Take it as prescribed; it can cause dizziness, particularly when treatment is started.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active and limiting alcohol support better blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any heart problems, fainting spells or planned cataract surgery before starting, and about other medicines you take. Rising slowly from sitting or lying down helps reduce dizziness. Report fainting or marked lightheadedness.
