Cyclopam Injection is a medicine used to treat abdominal cramps and pain caused by muscle spasms in the stomach and gut, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It is a single-ingredient medicine containing dicyclomine, with benzyl alcohol added as a preservative, and belongs to a class of medicines called antispasmodics (anticholinergics).
This medicine works by relaxing the smooth muscle of the stomach and intestines, which reduces sudden spasms, cramps and bloating. It is given by a doctor or healthcare professional in a clinical setting, for the duration they recommend.
Eating regular, smaller meals and avoiding foods that you notice trigger your symptoms may help ease IBS discomfort alongside treatment.
Before receiving this medicine, tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, difficulty passing urine, a blocked bowel or any other medical condition, and about any other medicines you take. Tell the healthcare professional if you experience blurred vision or difficulty passing urine after the injection.
